5 Indian Startups That Went Global

Prime Minister, Mr. Narendra Singh Modi introduced startup scheme in India with an aim of promoting development of our nation. Many Indian business tycoons are into this startup scheme, and some of them even thought of going and promoting their startup globally. Here are some startups, whose founders decided to think globally and to expand their branches at an international level.

1) GOQii

GOQii was founded by Vishal gondal in 2014, is a California based technology venture in Menlo Park. It presents a wearable fitness band with the personal coach. In April 2016, Amit Singhal of Google joined as one of the board of directors. The company has risen funding from Angel Investors including Amit Singhal of Google, Neeraj Arora of WhatsApp, Marco Argenti of Amazon Web Services Mobile, Anil Godhwani of Habitera, Steve Luczo of Seagate, Mike McNamara of Flextronics, Kanwaljit Bombra of Dell, Vijay Vashee of Microsoft, Bollywood actress Madhuri Dixit Nene and Dr. Shriram Nene. Financial services firm Edelweiss has entered in a strategic partnership with GOQii and closed an investment round in early 2016. GOQii tied up with Axis Bank to collaborate on wearable devices for its customers offering them the fitness service and allowing them to make NFC payments from the device later in 2016.

2) Zomato

Zomato is a restaurant search and a service founded in 2008 by Deepinder Goyal and Pankaj Chaddah. Currently, they are serving in 23 countries including India, Australia and United states. It presents all the scanned menus and the information related to this restaurant branches, as well as customers reviews and ratings. The company also provides cashless payments, online ordering, white label apps, table reservation, and point of sale systems. The investors of this company are Info edge, Sequoia India, Vy capital and Temasek. As of 21 March 2016, Zomato ranks as the top 2 startup for India in the Startup Ranking.

3) Fusion Charts

Fusion Charts, part of InfoSoft Global (P) Ltd, is a privately software provider of data visualization products like Java script charts, Maps, Widgets, Dashboards, having offices in Kolkata and Bangalore, India. It has 23,000 customers and 500,000 users in 120 countries, including technology giants such as Apple, Google, ZOHO, Cisco, Facebook, Intel, LinkedIn, Microsoft, Hewlett-Packard, IBM, EMC, Nokia, Tibco, as well as The Weather Channel, NASA, and the Federal Government of the United States. Fusion Charts was in 2010 named as one of the 15 companies likely to become the next Infosys. For future company has released Collabion, a chart demonstration, particularly made for use with Microsoft SharePoint. Even they are preparing an add-in charting for Microsoft power point.

4) Magzter

Magzter is a cross platform, self-service, global digital magazine newsstand with over 8000 magazines from 3400+ publishers. It was founded in 2011 by Girish ramdas and Vijayakumar radhakrishnan. The company’s headquarters is in New York and it has international sales office locations in London, Paris, Amsterdam, Singapore, Barcelona, Munich, Cape Town and India. Magzter has magazines from the United States, the United Kingdom, Europe, China, Hong Kong, Australia, South Africa, Indonesia, India, Thailand, the Philippines, Malaysia, and Singapore. The company works with 3,400 publishers in more than 50 languages from 175+ countries. By May 2015 Magzter had amassed 29+ million readers.

5) Cipher Graph

Cipher graph was founded by Jitender Sharan in 2011. The company was accelerated by Microsoft startup accelerator. Cipher Graph networks offers businesses security for data applications hosted on public and private clouds. Their flagship offering is the cipher graph cloud access gateway. Cipher Graph Networks promotes its use to create a secure perimeter for cloud servers. It aims to be a replacement for VPN hardware in the cloud targeting businesses that are migrating to the cloud from their existing datacenter. The company won many awards like Microsoft Bizspark Startup Challenge, Nasscom Emerge 50 2012 among others. Cipher Graph was added to the Amazon Web Services Partner Network in 2012. Cipher Graph was funded by Chamath Palihapitiya in 2012 through his investment fund Social+Capital Partnership, who joined their board.
