EdCast Inc Buys Seattle Based Sales Training App Maker Sales-University

Online learning platform EdCast Inc has acquired Seattle-based sales training app maker Sales-University (formerly WAGmob), for an undisclosed amount, to expand its enterprise learning to Sales organisations. Sales-University’s clients include Google, Samsung, Snapdeal and a few Fortune 500 companies. Sales University has over 300 mobile apps for learning and training for iOS, Android and Windows and has over 4 million consumers.

Snapchat Raises $1.81B at a Valuation of $20B

Messaging app Snapchat has raised $1.81 billion in an equity offering at a valuation of about $20 billion. Investors who participated in this round include General Atlantic, Sequoia Capital, T. Rowe Price, Lone Pine and Fidelity, among others.

Noida Based MoMagic Invests in mChamp Entertainments

Noida-based MoMagic, a mobile internet market and app ecosystem player, has invested Rs 5 crore ($741.5k) in mChamp Entertainments. Earlier this month, MoMagic invested $1 million in education services startup EduAce Services Pvt Ltd.

Founded in 2011, mChamp, a celebrity and entertainment driven contest app, offers various contests on music, sports and entertainment. The app was launched in 2015.

Pharmaceutical Company Laurus Labs Plans to Raise $110-$150M Via IPO

Hyderabad-based pharmaceutical company Laurus Labs is planning to raise $110-$150 million via an initial public offering. The company is expected to dilute up to 25% stake in the share sale, which will value the company at about Rs 4,000 crore. Warburg Pincus, which invested Rs 550 crore in the company in 2014, is expected to make a partial exit through the IPO, while Fidelity Growth Partners, is likely to sell its entire minority stake through the listing.
