India’s leading early-stage venture capital firm, Prime Venture Partners (PrimeVP), welcomes Co-founder and former COO of magicpin, Brij Bhushan as a full-time Venture Partner.

In this role, Brij will be a key member of the Investment team and will contribute to all aspects of the firm’s investment, portfolio management and fundraising.

Brij Bhushan co-founded magicpin, which is currently India’s leading hyperlocal startup and third-largest food delivery app. As a co-founder, he was instrumental in magicpin's growth, raising over $100 million from investors including Lightspeed, Zomato and Waterbridge.

An alumnus of IIM Bangalore, Bhushan previously worked in venture capital as Vice President at Nexus Venture Partners before co-founding magicpin. He has also worked with Bain & Co.

Brij Bhushan, Venture Partner, Prime Venture Partners, said, “Joining Prime Venture Partners feels like coming full circle. As a VC turned founder, I’ve realized that early-stage startups need more than just investment—they need a true team member. The Prime team, full of ex-entrepreneurs, has exemplified this over the past decade, and I resonated deeply with their culture. After nearly a decade as a founder, I’m excited to return to VC, where I can help founders navigate their journeys, leveraging my experiences alongside a team that truly understands what it takes to get a company off the ground.”

Amit Somani, Managing Partner at Prime Venture Partners, said, “Brij Bhushan brings a unique combination of strategic thinking, execution excellence, and a long-term mindset essential for company building. We believe he is a perfect addition to our leadership team.”

Sanjay Swamy, co-founder and Managing Partner at Prime said, “We’re excited to expand the leadership team with Brij Bhushan’s addition and plan for the next decade of growth in the Indian VC and Tech Start-up ecosystem. Nation’s startup ecosystem has now matured to the point where companies can go through the various stages of establishing Product Market Fit, Early Growth, Late-Stage funding, and eventually IPO and post listing journey in a predictable manner.
