Nazara’s NODWIN Gaming Acquires Majority Stake In AFK Gaming For Rs 7.6 Cr: Report

As per media reports, NODWIN Gaming had led AFK Gaming’s first investment round in 2017. The acquisition will see the founders of AFK Gaming joining NODWIN’s leadership team

According to media reports, Nazara Technologies's subsidiary, NODWIN Gaming, has acquired a 93 per cent stake in AFK Gaming, an Indian esports and gaming media company, for Rs 7.6 crore. The acquisition, a mix of cash and stock swap, complements NODWIN's existing 7 per cent stake, making it the sole owner of AFK Gaming.  

As per media reports, this strategic acquisition aims to enhance NODWIN’s capabilities in content production, distribution, and marketing within the esports domain. “This move will further strengthen our offerings to brands and publishers while increasing our stake in the expanding marketing budgets of the esports and gaming industry,” the filing noted.  

Founded in 2012 by Nishant Patel, Rakesh Ramchandran, and Siddharth Nayyar, AFK Gaming established its name in India’s gaming and esports media sector. The company operates a website delivering industry news and insights, along with its business-centric newsletter, *Pixel P&L*. Its agency arm, Max Level, provides tailored marketing solutions, including influencer programs, PR campaigns, and content creation for high-profile clients like ASUS ROG, KRAFTON, and Jio Games.  

As per media reports, NODWIN Gaming had led AFK Gaming’s first investment round in 2017. The acquisition will see the founders of AFK Gaming joining NODWIN’s leadership team, ensuring a smooth transition and continued growth for the brand.  

According to media reports, this integration positions NODWIN Gaming to deepen its influence in India’s fast-evolving esports ecosystem.
