Terra Food Co, a multi-brand, cloud kitchen start-up, raises $1 million in seed funding. Faad network was the lead investor with LV, IPJ (Japanese Angel Network), Chennai Angels, Agility Ventures and angel investors. Some prominent industry professionals from food tech and restaurant spaces with a proven record of taking their restaurant business to IPOs have also joined TFC as investors and advisors. It is going to utilize the fund in business expansions, increasing portfolios of brands, building innovative food technology, product developments and team expansion.
With the focus on accessible, convenient and affordable gourmet dining, Terra Food Co takes the initiative in catering to the aspiring youth of Tier 2 cities and metros through its multiple unique modern brands that provide the best non-traditional food experience. TFC will be launching its innovative self-heating packaging. By 2025, TFC is expected to become the biggest gourmet food company in India with a presence in 25 cities and over 100 kitchens.
Talking about the business journey and growth, Sriram Nair, Founder and CEO, of Terra Food Co said, “Terra Food Co has had a very hands-on approach since inception, from the launch of our first pick-and-go concept in 2017 which led to opening our dine-in restaurant serving world cuisine in 2019, and then starting a cloud kitchen focusing affordable gourmet dining.”

The start-up has launched and is successfully scaling up 7 multi-cuisine brands in Ahmedabad — Terra Gourmet, Pick Up Meals, Papadum, Aho Punjab, Sushito, HIIT Meals, Zeus Burger, Jaani Maani Biryani, and Noodle Van. TFC has now expanded to Delhi NCR and Jaipur. Terra is also working on various brands with regional Indian cuisines such as Assamese, Goan, Rajasthani & Gujarati, as well as international cuisines such as Mexican, Korean & Lebanese. TFC is working towards growing its portfolio to at least 25 brands serving different target groups, cuisines, and dietary preferences.
Currently, TFC is operational in Ahmedabad, Jaipur, Delhi, Gurgaon, and Faridabad, and is expanding to multiple locations in Pune, Chandigarh Tricity, Ludhiana, and Lucknow in the next year. It plans to have around 30 kitchens by the end of 2023 with a presence in 10 cities.
