Paytm Strengthens Travel Segment, Partners With Google Flight, Others

One 97 Communications, the parent company of Paytm, has seen big growth in its travel segment by partnering with global travel platforms like Skyscanner, Google Flights and Wego.

Paytm has expanded its travel options, especially for international flights, through these partnerships. It has also added airlines like Cambodia Angkor Air, SalamAir and FlyDubai to offer more choices for international travelers.

Paytm has introduced a free cancellation service for train and bus bookings, which has seen significant growth, followed by flights. The company aims to expand its travel offerings and improve the overall customer experience, with a focus on providing seamless and competitive travel solutions. The integration of artificial intelligence is part of this effort.

In Q4'24, Paytm's flight bookings grew by about 19 per cent, while international ticket bookings increased by nearly 15 per cent year-on-year in April.

According to preliminary estimates by the United Nations World Tourism Organisation, international tourism receipts reached USD 1.4 trillion in 2023.

Zomato is in talks with Paytm to acquire its movies and ticketing business as part of its strategy to focus on its key businesses. One97 parent, Paytm, stated that the potential transfer of Paytm’s entertainment business is being considered as an opportunity to enhance shareholder value.
