With 50% MoM Growth, SmartQ Crosses 1 Cr Transactions & Grows to 50+ Locations in India and Globally

Bangalore-based online food-tech platform SmartQ has crossed the milestone of one crore transactions through its platform over the last one year. Bringing technology to the office kitchen by digitising the traditional cafeteria, SmartQ has improved the cafeteria and food-court experience for the employees and customers of corporates.

Speaking about the milestone achieved, Krishna Wage, Co-founder and CEO, SmartQ, said, “Crossing one crore transactions is a great turning point in the growth story of SmartQ as an organization. This reflects our customers’ trust and belief in our value offerings. SmartQ has highly accelerated its success rate over time driven by factors such as innovations in technology, talent and brand building.” 

He further said, “Next few years are very important for us as an organization. Going forward, we aim to do between four and five crore transactions over the course of this fiscal. To take the organization to the next level of strategic growth, we are further scaling up our product portfolio, service offerings and business strategy”.

Founded by Krishna Wage and Abhishek Ashok in 2014, the company has grown its product portfolio, customer base, geographical presence and sales turnover. It has expanded its operations to international markets. 

Recently, SmartQ has raised close to $1 million from an investor group led by a consortium of Dubai based investors and existing investor, YourNest angel fund. SmartQ intends to use the raised funds for expanding the business within India and across international geographies along with further strengthening the team by getting together top talent. Through the funds received, the organization also has plans to roll out some of the world’s best and first of its kind product portfolio for the customers.

Addressing various challenges faced by employees and caterers, SmartQ enhances cafeteria and food-court experience by eliminating queues, minimizing wait time, increasing collaborative work time. By enabling corporate employees to place their orders through multiple means, SmartQ implements its innovative and cutting-edge product digital cafeteria Solutions. 

SmartQ is an exclusive technology partner for Compass, a global market leader in the food catering industry. SmartQ plans to expand their horizons to multiple other sectors like Stadiums, Hospitals, Supermarkets etc where there are queue issues and ultimately remove queue from the face of the earth.

SmartQ competes with the likes of HungerBox and Zeta. B2B foodtech company, HungerBox in January raised a Pre-Series A funding of worth $2.5 million led by Lionrock Capital and Kris Gopalakrishnan, Co-Founder, Infosys. Zeta which has revolutionized the employee benefits space, also digitised the campus of Indian Institute of Management, Lucknow - by introducing cashless and superfast payments.
