Zendesk Launches Fund To Back Early Stage AI Startups

The company has invested in PolyAI, a developer specialising in advanced conversational voice assistants and unitQ, a platform powered by AI for customer feedback

Zendesk, a customer service company, has started Zendesk Ventures, a fund to support early-stage AI-first startups that focus on improving customer and employee experiences.

In addition to providing funding, Zendesk Ventures also aims to offer expertise in customer experience (CX) and artificial intelligence (AI) and identify strategic partnership opportunities to help emerging startups in the industry grow.

The company has invested in PolyAI, a developer specialising in advanced conversational voice assistants and unitQ, a platform powered by AI for customer feedback. It has also invested in Observe.AI, a conversational intelligence platform and Zuper, a field service management software provider.

India's AI startup ecosystem is growing due to the Make AI in India initiative by the government. Zendesk Ventures is focused on supporting AI-first startups in India that aim to solve meaningful business problems in the CX and EX space.

Zendesk, founded in 2007, provides a cloud-based customer support platform designed to help businesses manage customer relationships more effectively. It includes tools for customer support, ticketing, self-service options, and customer engagement, aiming to help businesses integrate AI agents, workflow automation, and human agents for their customers and employees.
