Secret dresser is a platform for buying and selling pre-owned Luxury products, everything from Premium Indian designer wear like Sabhyasachi, Anjalee Arjun kapoor to watches, bags, shoes, jackets by International designers like Louis Vuitton, Dior, Karen Millen, Ted baker. Anyone can buy and sell through the portal. The sellers can first send us pictures of products they wish to sell, after which the products are collected and undergo multi-layer processes for validation of quality and originality. The products are retained by the portal until sold .Only after proper authentication and evaluation the products are listed on the portal at much discounted prices. The payment is then transferred to the sellers account upon selling. For buyers, they can simply shop from the available variety at their convenience in few simple clicks. The startup claims that its website is cent percent buyer protected and user-friendly.

Dimple says- “The Idea sure comes from my own collection, the exquisite Indian outfits that sometimes took months to be made by the best Indian designers, barely worn once with utmost care and some never worn lay hanging in the closet, you got to do something about them, so what’s better than sharing. However, the motivation and courage to actualize the vision comes from my brother, Mr Jitendra Lalwani who has taught me never to think twice before actualizing an Idea, just get on it and make it happen is all I have heard from him. Also being my biggest critic, he taught me whatever you do - give it your best.”

What are the special key features of your startup?

Secret Dresser is a one-stop shopping destination for fashion fanatics. It will be introducing real diamond and gold jewellery in the coming month - at the best possible deals. The startup also has unique add on features and more shall be introduced in the coming time. However the main Idea is to increase the rotation of the products that will ultimately help save resources of its planet. Also it will help people buy authentic luxurious clothing at a minimal price range saving their money and time on searching for lookalikes of original branded clothes which are hard to find.

Funding status and monetization

As of now the startup is self- funded. For the future It’s too fresh a venture to comment as of now. Let’s see where is gets in the years to come. The company work on commision basis, using consignment model.

What are the challenges faced by the startup while setting up the business?

Every startup comes with a set of challenges of its own . A new venture never comes easy. However Dimple truly believe that challenges are good - they make you work harder .

What is the market size and market opportunity?

Online luxury fashion market is on a rise at global level. Whereas, pre-owned luxury selling is comparatively a new concept in India .There is sure a huge market  opportunity but  it’s too soon to comment. There is a big mental block for the pre-owned clothing notion that is yet to be cleared. People are accepting this concept well and hopefully will continue to do so in the years to come.

What advice Secret Dresser wants to give the new entrants in this space?

At the end it’s all about sharing resources . Increasing the rotation of luxury products will definitely be fruitful for the society and the planet as a whole . There is enough room for many such ventures to co-exist. The startup believe for people working on similar lines It is essential to maintain the quality standards  to help people accept the concept easily in the coming time.
