As the Indian economy is experiencing a surge in the startup ecosystem, the industry leaders gathered to discuss the impact of new-age entrepreneurs, particularly those leveraging digital interventions to reshape the economic ecosystem of the nation at the BW Disrupt Founders Forum 2023.
Sudhir Mishra, the founder of Trust Legal, initiated a thought-provoking panel discussion, emphasising the substantial contributions of these entrepreneurs. He underscored how their digital initiatives are leaving an indelible mark on India's economic landscape.
During the challenging pandemic phase of 2020, Udita Bansal, the founder of trueBrowns, embarked on a journey driven by vision and purpose. She shared her experience of building a brand movement centered around bringing roots and traditions into modern lifestyles. trueBrowns' core proposition of size inclusivity gained prominence, leading to a successful shift to an online business model. "It's not about the product but the story that our consumers hold us for," she added.
Paridhi Sekhri, co-founder of TidyUp, found her entrepreneurial passion by addressing personal problems. Observing the deterioration of luxury products due to improper care and storage during the pandemic, she recognised the need for sustainable solutions. Sekhri's brand focuses on designing products that enhance convenience while maintaining sustainability, affordability, and accessibility. She emphasised the importance of leaving a positive environmental footprint through thoughtful product development.
Gagan Anand, the founder of Scuzo Ice 'O' Magic, shared his transition from two decades in FnP to turning his hobby into a passion. Following the mantra of 'treat as you want to be treated,' Anand successfully created a niche for himself with sweet and healthier fruit-based offerings, expanding to over 40 outlets in just three years.
The entrepreneurs highlighted various aspects of their business strategies. Bansal emphasised solving the core issue of the size matrix; Sekhri revolutionised conventional care methods; and Anand championed the direct-to-consumer approach and emphasised on making store Insta worthy. They all stressed the significance of aligning with consumer preferences, adapting to market trends, and maintaining sustainable practices.
Sudhir Mishra delved into the technical advancements, discussing the virtual booking solutions offered by a venture platform. He also shed light on successful collaborative efforts with the government and pollution withdrawal board, resulting in a significant 70 per cent reduction in plastic bag usage. The panel discussion concluded by discussing evolving market dynamics, with Sekhri emphasising the need for sustainable and long-lasting products, signalling a shift towards a paper-free society.
