Andhra Pradesh is becoming a hotspot for startups and manufacturing, supported by investor-friendly policies, strong infrastructure, and strategic connectivity, according to Minister for Education, IT, and Electronics, Nara Lokesh, according to a leading news wire PTI. Speaking at a meeting with representatives from the US-India Business Council and Indiaspora in San Francisco, Lokesh highlighted Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu's vision, under which the state is fast-tracking its development.
Lokesh outlined the government's plans for decentralised sectoral growth across the state, with the automobile industry set for Anantapur, renewable energy in Kurnool, IT and pharmaceuticals in Visakhapatnam, biofuel in Prakasam, and aquaculture in the Godavari districts. Plans for Amaravati's capital city construction and an upcoming AI University were also shared, both designed to attract global talent and drive innovation.
The meeting saw participation from senior US industry figures, including Indiaspora founder Rangaswami, Kavita Mariyappan of Zscaler, and QuantumScape CEO Shiva Shivram, who were encouraged to invest in Andhra Pradesh's thriving business landscape.
