Play Your Sport, a sports technology company based in New Delhi, has acquired
Directground.com, a Gurgaon based sports startup. Directground.com is a discovery and booking platform that helps sports enthusiasts discover and book right places to play their favorite sports and was founded by Arun Singh Chauhan and Neha Singh in November 2015.
As part of the acquisition, Directground.com’s founder and CEO Arun Singh Chauhan joins Play Your Sport as Chief Technology Officer with the goal of making Play Your Sport a global sports technology company to meet the needs as well as solve the problems of the key stakeholders in the sports industry.
Play Your Sport founders Supriya Mamgain and Varoon Kapoor says, "We are extremely delighted about the acquisition and to have Arun Singh Chauhan join as the CTO of the company. There is a lot of synergy in the technology and the vision of the two companies.”
Speaking about the acquisition, Directground.com’s founder and CEO Arun Singh Chauhan says “Directground.com and PlayYourSport are basically aiming to target the same problems. Joining hands will align our visions, improve our focus and help us solve bigger problems in much better way. Technology is a very important aspect of any startup today and through this acquisition, we plan to focus on aligning technologies of existing products and overall technical growth of Play Your Sport.”
Play Your Sport was founded with the vision 'sports and fitness for everyday athlete'', the company was the winner of TIE Smash Up Heroes and recently raised its
pre-series A round of funding led by Ashish Gupta, ex co-founder of E-valueserve.
