CHICS CONNECT, founded by Hurratul Maleka Taj is operational from The India Network first Co-Working Space at Udaipur , Rajasthan.
ChicsConnect is a community of women which aims at connecting women worldwide into a seamless network online as well as offline.
The community is now present at 20+ locations in India, Jamaica, Bay Area and Dubai. CHICS Connect aims at empowering women not just professionally but in every sphere of their lives, thus the startup has working professionals, entrepreneurs and even house wives as a part of the network.
The name CHICS CONNECT was coined because the founder Hurratul strongly feels that every girl has that diva, the CHIC in her which gets lost as we girls grow up, and we start living for others, for our family, husband and kids. This network helps women find their true self through amazing and enriching offline meet ups and help them connect online through the mobile application.
Chics Connect was started in May 2016, and today after 4 months it has 4,800 members from India, Jamaica, Dubai and Bay Area. The most striking feature is that the company was completely bootstrapped before raising this funding round and is cash positive.
Hurratul also ran a crowdfunding campaign back in May to raise funds for the mobile application. This is exactly when she met the current mentor and advisor to Mr. Rahul Narvekar. Hurratul says,“ I still remember, the first day of the campaign when the mark was 0, I woke up in the morning and to my surprise saw my message saying Congratulations, you have raised Rs. 11,000 from Rahul Narvekar. I emailed him and he congratulated me. That was the first interaction with him and from then his support for CHICS CONNECT has been tremendous.
Recently he came down to Udaipur for the opening of The India Network Co-Working Space and felt really happy about the exponential growth of CHICS CONNECT till date. I also met Mr. Nilesh Rathi few days back and he too was very impressed with the growth and that the company is bootstrapped and yet cash positive.”
Vinav Bhanawat, Founder (Non Moving Inventory), Co-founder (The India Network), has also been a great support to CHICS CONNECT and has been consulting the startup form day 1. He is also investing in the startup in his own personal capacity.
Hurratul also looks forward to bring out the hidden talent amongst the girls in her network and give them a platform which can boost their careers. She has a lot of plans in pipeline for the same.
CHICS CONNECT currently has women ambassadors from across the globe which includes some eminent names such as Terri-Karelle Reid, Miss World Jamaica 2005, Aditi Chaurasia, Co-Founder Engineer Babu to name a few.
The raised funds will be infused in building the community, hiring some women employees and expanding it to many other countries.
