“Data protectionis top-of-mind for global enterprises as today’s work environmentbecomes more decentralized. As data becomes more dispersed on laptops, mobile devices and in cloud services, organizations face greater challenges protecting this information,”said JaspreetSingh, CEO, Druva. “Japanese organizations are especially security, governance and compliance-aware with unique requirements for their software solutions.Druva is excited to launch our Japanesesubsidiary and address a growing need for a single solution for data availability, corporate governance and compliance management, all delivered with the ease-of-use and scale of the cloud.”

The mission of Druva Japan will be to provide support and training for reseller partners and customers while tailoring its product roadmap to align with the specific data protection-related requirements of Japan. Druva first localized its solutions for Japan a year ago. NTT Finance’s strategic investment will be used to further build and scale Druva operations in the region.

“NTT prides itself on identifying forward-looking, disruptive technologies that will accelerate business innovation in Japan and the world,” said Masayuki Utada, Senior Executive Manager of International Business Unit, NTT Finance.  “Druva, which achieved the highest overall product score in Gartner’s Critical Capabilities for Enterprise Endpoint Backup report, is a top-rated data protection solution that integrates data backup and recovery, data loss prevention, and automated regulatory compliance monitoring for endpoints, servers, and cloud applications alike. We believe Druva will simplify and strengthen Japanese companies’ information security and compliance efforts, and that’s why we are investing in the company.”

Druva first announced its entrance into the Japanese market last year, with itsNetOne Systems partnership, which made the company’s data protection solutions available locally. IT solution provider NTT Neomeit also became the first Japanese Managed Service Provider (MSP) of Druva at the time.   Since then,Druva has appointed NetOne Partners as a distributor, and signednew Japanese partners including AP-Communications, CLCP, Serverworks, and SO-NET Business Associates. These partnerships will ensure Druva has the local expertise to deliver data protection and governance solutions that addressregional data protection and privacy requirements.  Druva is also introducing its PartnerSync program for new partners in Japan in order to ensure that Druva's solutions can be made available to all industries and market segments in Japan.

“Druva has built a very advanced solution for global data protection, governance and regulatory compliance – and now the company is bringing its world-class solutions to Japan,” said Shailendra Singh, Managing Director, Sequoia Capital India Advisors. “Sequoia is excited to support Druva's quest to become a global category leader and their expansion into the Japanese market is a key step in that direction."

Druva leverages Amazon AWS and Microsoft Azure cloud platforms to converge business continuity and data governance, dramatically reducing the risk, effort and cost of managing business critical information across the enterprise--everything from endpoints to the data center. Data is captured once as backup and made usable for multiple data protection needs including restores, disaster recovery, search, compliance and information governance. Druva calls this innovative approach converged data protection.

Druva’s new office is located at Global Business Hub Tokyo in Otemachi, Tokyo. Druva’s products are available in Japanese today.
