Taking heed of urgent calls of help from its large network of NGO partners, online donation platform GiveIndia has galvanized funds to alleviate the escalating health crisis.
Last year, GiveIndia supported 5.6 million people with cash relief, essential supplies, and healthcare & medical support (ambulances, PPE kits, screening, testing, etc), by partnering with 250+ verified nonprofits across the country, and deploying more than $30 million of collective funds we received from various partners, as part of “India COVID Response Fund”.
Unfortunately, India is back in difficult times again with covid cases climbing up rapidly and infrastructure crumbling to handle that. A lot of hospitals, healthcare nonprofits, multiple government agencies, and other partners have started reaching out to and are seeking support for shortage in medical equipment (oxygen concentrators, etc), essential supplies, capacity, cost of healthcare, and more, and hence, with immediate effect, GiveIndia is restarting covid response work - India COVID Response Fund (ICRF2). ICRF2 will, of course, build upon the work done last year, including support of ICRF Advisory Board, Steering Committee, NGO partners, Hospital Partners, Govt. bodies etc.
They are supporting five key interventions to ease the suffering caused by a brutal second wave of COVID-19 sweeping the country. GiveIndia has started raising funds to Boost oxygen supply, Donate food to families struggling with hunger in Covid's second wave, Give cash support to families of COVID deceased, Save critical patients from fighting corona at home and Donate reusable pads to women who have access to none.
