Indi.com – Ready to Capture the Indian Talent

It is easy to get lost in such a huge world even though there are umpteen number of opportunities for talented and creative people. Even though the social network has made it easy to connect to the right individuals, a need for new structure was felt.

Indi.com was launched in 2012 as a prominent global video platform for individuals and brands, enabling them to create, monetize and integrate multiple social networks benefiting all. Based out of Irvine, South California, Indi.com registered its presence in India in April, 2016. With a view to revolutionize the present day.

The platform also seeks innovative ways for securing interactive social media engagement. Initially, it focused on consortium of artists, letting them audition online surpassing the necessity to travel. Everyone from top notch casting agents, production houses used to host challenges to scout out the best talent from the crowd.

The Founders

As an empowered individual, Shikha Uberoi of Indian-American origin thought of building up a network for people to get noticed and incite a change. She along with a start-studded clan of people, was able to start a company which was called, ‘Indi.com.’

The co-founders of the firm are film- actor Anil Kapoor, Neel Grover, Divyansh Bajpai and Shikha Uberoi.

What pushed you to collaborate with Real Deal on NDTV with Indi.com?


Indi.com is backing the reality show Real Deal, and we have collaborated with each other to gain partnership with several music groups, casting directors and the like. People such as Roshmi Banerjee – hosts the online auditions. Music companies like EMI Records India are also connected with us, which bring in judges like Mohit Suri to the platform.

Ranging from a broad array of genres from acting, singing, retail brands, entrepreneurs, fashion, and modeling at present, we are excited about a lot more that will come. Earning prizes and investment drives the people to pick up the contests and participate.

How did a tennis–star become an entrepreneur?

I am 33 right now, I still believe that the best is yet to come. Swearing by the idea that we have one and only one life, I want to outlive my passion for everything that I ever wished to do. After being the No.1 athlete in Indian Tennis and a silver-medalist at Doha (’06), I learned Anthropology at Princeton. All of it together made me realize that I wanted to promote sports and an overall social change.

Turning to the path of entrepreneurship, I went on to learn the concept of for-profit social enterprises. Post that I launched a media and lifestyle company, SDU Seva Inc. in 2013, which is currently producing content international social issues for television shows.

Managing Marketing Outreach

In times of the online social networks and online channels the platform is being with paid marketing and proprietary algorithm. As we provide solutions for brands can host challenges and attract original content, promotion is not a problem.

Users who get involved with challenges keep posting their own content, promoting the website indirectly across platforms. Indi.com hence, provides a much-coveted space for brands to enhance engagement with the users.

Future Plans

Garnering global acclaim, Indi’s video platform is well supported by advanced in-built ecommerce capabilities. Owing to the trust of high-profile founders, Indi further reaches out to the senior level management of Fortune 500 companies, top media brands and celebrities.

While users from 200 different countries are accessing the platform, India, as the second largest base of smart phone users has the first ever focused website outside of USA.
