Sachin Tendulkar to hit sixes for Paytm First Games

With IPL round the corner, the news of the hour is fantasy gaming platform Paytm First Games roping in Sachin Tendulkar as their brand ambassador.
 

The announcement came with Vijay Shekhar Sharma, tweeting the same yesterday evening on 14th September. “Onboarding our newest @Paytm family member!” Paytm First Games (PFG), a subsidiary of digital financial service platform Paytm.

Paytm First Games (PFG) has also set aside Rs 300 crore to spend on marketing and promotions during the remaining six months of the current financial year, in order to compete ahead of the market share in this space, which is currently dominated by Dream11, which is being represented by Former Indian Cricket team captain, Mahendra Singh Dhoni. 

“So since long, we were thinking of whom to rope in as our right man ambassador to be associated with our team. We were looking for someone who is highly inspirational amongst people and someone whom people look up to and also for someone who is known for chasing his dreams and has also played for our country and then who better than the ‘Godfather of Cricket,’ Sachin Tendulkar,” said Sudhanshu Gupta, COO, Paytm First Games.
 

Gupta further told BW Businessworld that when they pitched him to be a brand ambassador for them, so he was more than happy to partner with them.  

“The deal was transpired in the last quarter” asserted Gupta. 

He further stated that with IPL round the corner, it was the best time for them to spread a word about sports and what better a face than Sachin Tendulkar himself. 

According to Gupta, “the only issue we faced was shooting for the advertisements with Sachin in the post COVID world with so many restrictions and keeping in mind the hygiene factor. But we somehow pulled it through in a record time of three weeks.” 

Further, Paytm has also clubbed the position as an official umpire partner for IPL till 2022 and has been the title sponsor for Indian cricket.
