Shimply.com - Delhi Based Multi-Category Online Bazaar For Indian-Made products, Introduces Virtual Trial Room

Delhi based Shimply.com is a multi-category online bazaar for Indian made products with a focus on ‘India ko Try Karke Dekho.’ The company is trying to bridge a gap between online and offline through its virtual trial room technology which will enable a soft touch feel in an online world. Driven by a customer centric approach, Shimply provides the best online shopping experience, right from varied products, low price, fast delivery, simple interface, and the best customer service experience.

Genesis

It started with a naive idea of its founder, Rajat Garg who had the opportunity to travel to different parts of India with his father who was a BSF personnel. Be it the deserts of Jaisalmer or the snowy mountains of Kashmir, the fort city of Gwalior or the jackfruit city of Agartala, he realised each of these places have their own unique culture. Each place had a different culture in terms of clothing, jewellery, food preference, customs etc. but this difference made each place special, in its own way. He used to bring souvenirs for friends and family, from each of the places and those gifts were extremely cherished. This made him realise the value exists for these authentic and high quality products but there was no credible platform from where these products could be bought without the need to visit each place individually. This realisation gave way to Shimply.

How does it work?

The platform wants to work on the grass root level in India to bring unique products online and also pass on all the benefits directly to artisans. Given that Internet penetration is still low in rural areas, it’s a struggle to get quality sellers online. Shimply is a medium to bring this diversity to one platform which can resonate with every Indian living in that state, every migrant who misses his/her state, every Indian who wishes to try something new and every non-Indian who aspires to get a feel of India.

Virtual Trial Room by Shimply.com

Problem: Every woman wants to try a product before she buys it. In an increasing online world, customers buy products online without being able to actually trying it on themselves.

Solution: Shimply.com has built a new technology solution that enables you to use a camera to snap a picture of you and then place a product on yourself and see how it looks just like in real life.

Features:

1) Multiple products can be placed on top of you
2) Product can be dragged to any place on top of your picture with hand gestures and touch on screen
3) Product can be resized and rotated to adjust to your picture.
4) Product and base picture (of customer) can be resized to generate a parallax and 3D effect that allows customer to see the product in a way as if customer herself/himself is actually wearing it.
5) Images are processed in a special way to allow users to try millions of products instantly.

Potential:

1) This technology can be placed in shopping malls allowing customers to go through hundreds of dresses without having to actually go to a trial room.
2) Customers can actually try home decor products (like paintings/furniture etc) and see how it looks on their wall.

Basically, the potential of this technology is limitless.

About the Founder

Shimply was founded by Rajat Garg in December 2014. After completing his MS from Stanford, Rajat worked with Amazon in their Affiliate Marketing team. This exposed him to the world of automated and scalable digital marketing methods using tools that were not widely known. After leaving Amazon, he worked with a start-up in US and then moved to India to start SocialAppsHQ and then, Shimply.com.

Rajat strongly believes that the 'Try Karke Dekho' is a major innovation in the online shopping space and will change the way people shop online and offline.
