The tech sector is also creating new jobs in India. In 2022, the tech sector employed over 4 million people in India, and this number is expected to grow in the coming years.
Speaking at the fifth edition of BW Businessworld's Techtors, on Thursday, Akshay Chaturvedi said, "The significance of transforming India into a pure soft power, urging for progress in all directions and advancements in electric vehicles, hardware, and tractors while keeping soft power at the forefront."
Agriculture is one of the sectors that has been at the forefront of India's growing economy. Therefore, agriculture-focused technologies need to be pushed for adoption. Commenting on this, Pankaj Goyal, Co-founder and COO of AutoNxt Automation, stressed the importance of developing self-driving and electric tractors in the agriculture sector to enhance productivity. He said, "The adoption of autonomous tractors is important, which could not only reduce harm to drivers but also bring about massive efficiency improvements."

Commenting on this, Rahil Gupta, Co-founder and CTO of HOP Electric Mobility, emphasized the ongoing global electric revolution and India's potential to become a powerful software-driven nation. While acknowledging India's success in the software domain, he urged the need to bolster hardware capabilities to accelerate growth.
Slightly touching upon the role of tech-based startups in shaping India's economy, Pankaj Sharma, Co-founder and Director of Log9 Materials, highlights, "Technology holds the key to bringing about a massive transformation. Encouraging the nurturing of local talent and fostering innovation within the country." Sharma stresses the creation of indigenous technologies and companies.
