With the advent of digital technology, our ways of accessing the world have changed drastically. First was the era of desktop apps, then came the browsers & websites followed by mobile apps and now we are running headlong to witness the biggest technical paradigm shift of the decade — the conversation commerce paradigm - thanks to the innate human nature of conversing.
Team BWDisrupt Interacts With Pratik Jain, Co-founder, Morph.ai And Spoke To HimThe Story Behind!Downloading and installing a new app every time you need a new service is a painful experience. You have a small need, you have to download the app, install it and live with the burden on your phone until, one fine day you uninstall it because you didn’t use it anymore anyway. On the business side, brands need to burn a lot of cash to make the customers download their app. Why can’t there be a platform which will enable these brands to reach the customers where they are already present. To solve this pain point,
Morph.ai was born.
We had been thinking of this concept since end of last year. There was very little movement in this space and world was still unsure whether conversations would be changing the world. The concept of conversational commerce started floating around by the end of last year; however, it was still not mainstream.
The thought gained deeper roots when we noticed how companies, small and large, have to setup teams to talk to their customers approaching on social media. Automating conversations on social media pages for companies was the first concept that we discussed, started building the product from March, 2016 and launched the same on 1st May, 2016.
What is Morph.ai?Morph.ai is a B2B platform to build conversational services. Morph.ai enables businesses to make their product and services available on chat-based interfaces like Facebook, twitter, SMS, live-chat on website, etc. where customers can have automated conversation and get things done.
Giving an end-to-end solution, Morph uses artificial intelligence and machine learning to understand what the customer wants in the context of the business he is talking to. Morph.ai connects the current technical infrastructure of the companies and converts it into a conversational form. So, the customers of the companies can just chat with the company over its Facebook page or twitter account and use the services of the companies like ordering food, booking tickets, buying clothes, finding the best travel venue, asking for health advice or anything else that a company does.
Along with the basic services that the company provides, the customer support and queries can also be automated using the platform, thus saving on the cost of support agents. The response times are as low as 3-5 secs, which means the customers of the businesses would never have to wait for a long time before they get their questions answered.
Our team of 9 members (all in early 20’s) is all young & energetic with complementary skills and experience. There are developers, designers, content marketing strategists and business developers, each member playing multiple roles, making a solid team that can turn everything around.
Traction & Market OpportunityToday, conversations have been declared as the next huge technical shift the world will witness and we are glad to be the initial movers in this space. Giants like Facebook, Microsoft and Google have already stepped into this domain and have established the fact that 2016 will be the year of conversational commerce.
Unlike other personal assistants or standalone apps like Siri, niki.ai, x.ai, which are trying to gain their own consumer base, Morph.ai empowers the businesses to provide their services in conversational form to their existing customer base.
Few of our direct competitors in B2B space are converse.ai, motion.ai & Gupshup. We also have some indirect competitors in B2C space in India like Yana & Niki.
There has been tremendous traction in the market for the concept; companies of all sizes are showing great enthusiasm for entering the conversational world. We have approached a few big Indian startups and the talks are on. Many mid-sized companies have also approached us through social media and our website. We are also in talks with a few investors, although customers are a priority for now.
