Even its other competitors of the home services aggregator- LocalOye, UrbanClap have been in the news for not being able to a profitable business but so far they are still in the race.
The venture HouseJoy connects the right people to perform house tasks, while the customers can get them done even during their holidays or during festivities. Home maintenance services and aggregators have actually been solving many problems for urban houuseholds and making life easier for people.
Off-lately, the company HouseJoy’s traction has been good, and it had even raised $4M funding in series A from Matrix Partners in June 2015 and has raised $23M in series B, led by Amazon and included new investors Vertex Ventures, Qualcomm and Ru-Net Technology Partners in December 2015. It is one of the best service providers in the market, for services- Electrical, Plumbing, Beauty, Appliance Repair, Laundry, Cars & Bike, Carpentry Computer Repair, Home Cleaning, Painting, Pest Control. According to HouseJoy’s reports its platform had so far crossed 1 million customers on the platform in 1.5 years.
At present, HouseJoy's operations are expanded across all metro cities- Bangalore, Delhi, Mumbai, Hyderabad, Chennai and it has a thriving base of 5 lakh App downloads and a monthly user base of 75000+. The platform receives over 4,500 orders a day, across 12 categories of home services, with an average order value is Rs. 1100.
Other players who are operational in this space are Zimmber, QuikrServices and TimeSaverz. However, Taskbob shutdown its operation in Jan 2017 and DoorMint shut down this July 2016.
