It has manage to grab its place in every girl’s wardrobe be it of a college student’s or a working woman. Adding feather to its cap, Zara will soon start selling its trendy clothes online in India.
Inditex or Industria de Diseno Textil SA, the owner of fashion brands Zara and Massimo Dutti, entered the Indian market in 2010 in collaboration with Tata Group’s hypermarket and departmental stores firm.
Within a period of seven years, the venture has managed to open 21 outlets across eight cities in India. It is one of the fastest growing apparel brands in the country with revenue if Rs 842.57 crore in March 31, 2016, up by 17 per cent compared to the previous year. The joint-venture also has plans to open a 5,000 square feet flasgship store in Mumbai.
Although Inditex (ztstf, -5.17%), reported strong sales growth for the first five weeks in 2017, it announced store openings would slowdown as part of a broader trend of sales moving online.
