In the recent past, a lot of foreign banks offering private banking / wealth management have seen huge attrition, either shutting down or merging with retail banks. There has been a perceptible shift in the wealth management market with preference (of both talent as well as clients) towards local players for whom core business is wealth management / private banking. These local players are more nimble-footed and innovative in their product offering, thus, suited to serve their clients better and attracting talent at the same time.
