Amazon Opens Their Pantry In 64 Cities

According to the company website, Amazon India is ramping up their grocery services in no less than 64 Indian cities including Amritsar, Belagavi, Coimbatore, Lucknow and Salem, from the earlier 18 cities it was catering to earlier, within four days. The company has claimed that it would prioritize the delivery of their existing orders, although the new orders would get delivered in a span of five to eight days time period. Amazon was already operating their Pantry business, catering to 100 cities before the imposition of lockdown.

However, after the company which was dealing with restrictions being imposed on the movement of men and material during the lockdown period had chosen to shut down its operation in most of the cities during the first three weeks, have now scaled up its operations during the last few days. 

The average time the companies like BigBasket or Grofers, who are into a similar business take about three days on an average to deliver essentials in the cities where they have their presence.
