Chennai-based Baanhem Ventures has raised Rs 3.3 crore (Rs 33 million) from Mudhal Partners, an investment firm led by Kumar Vembu, according to media reports. This funding aims to strengthen the company’s mission to support first-generation entrepreneurs across Tamil Nadu, according to the company’s announcement.
Baanhem Ventures is known for creating the popular television reality show *Startup Thamizha*, which seeks to empower aspiring entrepreneurs while encouraging high-net-worth individuals to invest in startups. The show has garnered significant attention, securing a commitment of Rs 200 crore in investments from various industry leaders over its three seasons.
Through initiatives like ‘Startup Thamizha’, Baanhem Ventures is driving a cultural and financial shift towards fostering entrepreneurship in the region, bolstering Tamil Nadu’s startup ecosystem.
