Elon Reeve Musk was born on 28 June, 1971 in South Africa. He is an entrepreneur, engineer, inventor and investor. He is the founder, CEO and CTO of SpaceX; co-founder, CEO and product architect of Tesla Motors; co-founder and chairman of Solar City, co-chairman of Open Al; co-founder of Zip2; and co-founder of PayPal. As of June 2016, he has an estimated net worth of US$12.7 billion, making him the 83rd wealthiest person in the world. He has stated that the goals of SolarCity, Tesla Motors, and SpaceX revolve around his vision to change the world and humanity. His goals include reducing global warming through sustainable energy production and consumption, and reducing the "risk of human extinction" by "making life multiplanetary" by setting up a human Colony on Mars. Here’s a closer look at what exactly Musk is planning to invent in future:-
1. By 2018, producing 5,00,000 cars per year"Increasing production five fold over the next two years will be challenging and will likely require some additional capital, but this is our goal and we will be working hard to achieve it," the company said in its letter to investors. Tesla made approximately 50,000 vehicles in 2015, but Musk said in May that the company plans to be producing no less than 500,000 by 2018. To help put this in perspective, consider that Tesla only delivered about 50,000 vehicles last year and it’s aiming to deliver 80,000 to 90,000 cars this year.
2. Finalizing its Giant GigafactoryThe Gigafactory in Nevada is some 5.5 million square feet that will help the company dramatically cut the cost of its batteries by “using economies of scale, reduction of waste, innovative manufacturing, and the simple optimization of locating most manufacturing process under one roof.” Tesla reckon the factory will help it reduce the cost of its batteries by as much as 30% after 2020 when it is entirely working.

3. Proposing the Model 3 into production and perhaps a Model Y by 2017The batteries created at the Gigafactory will enable the company to produce its first mass market car, the Model 3. Tesla plans the deliveries beginning in late 2017. The starting price of the car is $35,000 before incentives, have a range of more than 215 miles per charge, the seating of the car is available for 5 individuals and the car is designed to attain the highest safety ratings in every category. The company also revealed that there will be another car also that will follow Model 3. In October, Musk said via Twitter that Tesla would also reveal a Model Y, which is rumored to be a crossover version of the Model 3, but then he deleted the tweet.
So it’s possible Tesla could be pushing out two new vehicles before 2020.
4. Fabricate 1 million cars by 2020According to Tech Insider, Musk wants to make some 1 million of cars per year by 2020. The reason behind this redundant growth is the unexpected demand for Model 3. During the first week of taking deposits for Model 3 the company had about 3, 25,000 reservations.
5. Hike the range of Tesla cars to 1000 km per chargeAccording to Tech insider, “The record right now for the Model S is 800 kilometers (497 miles), that is the furthest that anyone has driven a Model S… we are pretty close,” Musk told the Danish news site Borsen in September. “My guess is probably we could break a 1,000 kilometers (621 miles) within a year or two. I’d say 2017 for sure.” Musk added that by 2020 Tesla will likely be able to make its cars go as far as 745 miles per charge.
6. Building Tesla’s charging infrastructureMusk’s aim to build out Tesla’s charging infrastructure. Superchargers, of course, are the electric filling stations that are capable of charging a Tesla vehicle enough to give it almost 170 miles of range in 30 minutes or less. During the Model 3 disclosed in March, Musk said the company plans to increase its Supercharging network. During his presentation Musk said, during his presentation that Tesla would double the number of its Superchargers worldwide from some 3,600 to more than 7,000 by 2018.
7. Sending humans to mars in nine yearsElon Musk is planning to send humans to Mars in just nine short years. At the Code Conference in June, Musk said that he planned to send astronauts to Mars in 2024 so that they can land on the planet's surface by 2025. "We're establishing cargo flights to Mars that people can count on," he said at the conference. "The Earth-Mars orbital rendezvous is only every 26 months, so there'll be one in 2018; there'll be another one in 2020. And I think if things go according to plan, we should be able to launch people probably in 2024 with arrival in 2025.
