Acer, the Taiwanese electronics company known for laptops and hardware, has ventured into India's electric scooter market. The company will introduce electric vehicles designed and manufactured by urban mobility startup Think Ebikego. Its debut offering, the MUVI 125 4G electric scooter, is priced at Rs 99,999.
Taiwanese tech giant Acer has licensed its brand name to mobility startup eBikeGo, allowing them to use the Acer trademark for their eBike product in India’s electric vehicle (EV) market. eBikeGo will sell the electric scooter model Acer MUVI 125 4G at Rs 99,999. The scooter is designed and manufactured by eBikeGo.
Acer enters a competitive Indian e-scooter market with rivals like Ola Electric, Ather Energy, Hero Electric and TVS. Ola Electric recently launched new scooters and announced plans for electric bikes by 2024. Meanwhile, Ather Energy expanded into Nepal and secured Rs 900 crore in funding from Hero MotoCorp and GIC.
Hero MotoCorp holds a significant stake in Ather, demonstrating a growing interest in India's electric mobility sector.
