EndureAir's Sabal 20 Drone Enhances Indian Army’s Logistics With Indigenous Innovation

Startup EndureAir delivers cutting-edge logistics drones, marking a key step in India's defence self-reliance.

Indian startup EndureAir has made a significant contribution to modernizing the Indian Army's logistical operations with the delivery of its advanced Sabal 20 logistics drone to the eastern theatre of operations. The Sabal 20 is an electric unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) designed specifically for aerial logistics in challenging and remote terrains.

With a payload capacity of up to 20 kilograms—half its weight—the drone is capable of transporting critical supplies such as ammunition, food, and medical equipment over long distances, a vital asset for military forces in hard-to-reach areas. The drone's innovative tandem rotor configuration, inspired by the Chinook helicopter, provides superior stability, high-altitude performance, and load-carrying capacity.

Notably, the Sabal 20 features vertical take-off and landing (VTOL) technology, allowing it to operate in confined spaces. Its low RPM design reduces noise, making it ideal for stealth operations.

EndureAir’s delivery of the Sabal 20 is a testament to its commitment to India’s 'Make in India' and 'Atmanirbhar Bharat' initiatives, promoting self-reliance in defense technology. Abhishek, Director and Co-founder of EndureAir, emphasised the company’s dedication to providing Indigenous UAV solutions that align with India’s defense modernization efforts. This milestone reflects the growing role of Indian startups in advancing military capabilities and positioning India as a leader in defense innovation.
