EMO Energy, an innovative energy-tech startup, has secured USD 6.2 million in its Series A funding round. The round was led by Subhkam Ventures, with continued support from its existing investor, Transition VC.
Founded in 2022 by Sheetanshu Tyagi and Rahul Patel—who have previously worked with Tesla, Rivian, Ather, and General Motors—EMO Energy is disrupting the urban energy sector with its advanced battery technology. The company said that the proprietary cell agnostic tech stack, ZEN, enables ultra-fast 20-minute charging while significantly extending battery life to over five years. Through a combination of AI Battery Management Systems, Active Thermal Management, and machine learning-powered battery life extension algorithms, EMO’s solutions are designed for both mobility and energy storage, creating a massive potential market across electric two-wheelers, light commercial vehicles, and green industrial energy storage systems.
“Our vision is to create an integrated urban energy solution by deploying batteries and chargers in both energy storage and light mobility sectors. With strategic high-volume partnerships secured over the past year, this funding will help us scale our capacity from 2 kWh to 2000 kWh,” said Sheetanshu Tyagi, Co-founder & Chief Executive Officer of EMO Energy. “We are building an ecosystem that will power commercial establishments with EMO-enabled delivery vehicles, fast chargers, and energy storage systems, all orchestrated through our energy management software.”
EMO Energy plans to use the fresh funds to expand its energy solutions for electric two—and three-wheelers, targeting a fleet of over 100,000 vehicles within the next two years. Additionally, the company aims to deploy 1 GWh of energy storage systems. Part of the funds will be invested in R&D for its battery health extension software and scaling up its team to meet growing demand.
The company has already deployed over 2,000 battery packs for mobility and is in the advanced stages of pilot programs for Energy Storage Systems (ESS) designed to provide peak shaving, backup, and replacement for diesel generators in industrial and commercial settings. EMO’s key clients include prominent names such as Kinetic Green, BigBasket, Domino’s, and Blinkit.
With its cutting-edge technology and forward-thinking approach, EMO Energy is poised to become a key player in India’s shift toward sustainable energy and widespread electric vehicle adoption.
