Hotel booking platform Stayzilla and car pooling app Derbii have secured funding and Apple has invested $1 billion in Chinese ride-hailing firm Didi Chuxing.

StayZilla has raised over $13 million in a Series C round of funding from existing investors Matrix Partners and Nexus Ventures. The funding round was split into three tranches of $8.8 million (Rs.58.5 crore), $1.9 million (Rs.13 crore) and $2.4 million (Rs.16.3 crore), between November 2015 and March 2016.
The new funding will be used to improve product and technology and marketing initiatives for the alternate stay business. It previously raised $20 million from Nexus Venture Partners and Matrix Partners in February 2015.
Cab Pooling App Derbii Bags Seed Round from Accenture MD Anurag ChauhanGurgaon-based cab pooling app
Derbii which is owned by Winwincab Rides Pvt. Ltd., has raised an undisclosed amount of seed funding from Accenture MD Anurag Chauhan.
The startup aims to utilize the new funds to improve its technology, get more users, and increase the number of cabs on the road. Also, the company is looking at another round of investment in the next three months and have received commitment from the existing investor.
The Derbii app was founded last year by IIT Delhi alumni Gaurav Sinsinwar and Prasenjit Singh along with IIT Roorkee alumnus Akash Chaudhar, it is focused on providing carpooling services for office-goers in Delhi NCR. The app allows users to post requests on the app and also offers services such as GPS tracking and online payments.
"We fully expect to have at least 50 Derbii cabs operational by the end of June. We already have more than 800 signups requests via extremely targeted email marketing out of which we have been able to begin services for around 40 customers," the company said in a statement.

Didi Chuxing is also backed by China’s Tencent and Alibaba Group previously.
In 2015, Didi Chuxing invested an undisclosed amount in a $500 million fundraising round by Ola. Both Ola and Didi Chuxing are backed by Japan's SoftBank.
Didi Chuxing works with about 14 million Chinese car-owners and drivers, completes about 11 million rides a day on its platform and serving close to 300 million users across 400 Chinese cities.
