India's equity market has witnessed significant growth over the past few years, emerging as a key player in the global financial landscape. Fuelled by rapid economic expansion, increased foreign investments, and a surge in retail participation, the market has shown remarkable resilience.

A lot of new people are entering equity market and are looking at equity markets as a very good investment because it has given the highest returns over the last few years.

Sidhant Keshwani, Founder, Libas said, companies who are building out and probably eyeing an IPO, this is the perfect time because people are getting very educated now. "A lot of studies say the equity market in India is still so small, if you compare it to the Western world, even though it's growing rapidly," he said.

He added, a lot of new people who are entering equity market are looking it as a very good investment because it has given the highest returns over the last few years. “We are eyeing IPO in next two-three years time,” Keshwani revealed.

On what really changes for startups, when it comes to their journey from being in the unlisted space to the listed space Salil Kapoor, Founder and Director, IOT Labs said, "The history of evaluation in the startup world has evolved over the years, the long phase and the initial phase was all based on the valuations coming from fundraise at what value you have raised the fund."

He added, many times the fundraise was not dependent on the fundamentals. It was more dependent on the FOMO concept, which is fear of missing out.
