Time has gone by when teachers used to solve the geometric equation on a blackboard with chalk. From having doubt-clearing sessions to assessments, traditional method was relying of pen and paper. As the subject and content evolved, needed a much more innovative way of learning, be it a grade 1 student or grade 8th. From smart boards to smart classes and now augmented reality-enabled learning, the world has come a long way. To cater to such needs and address the gap Indian startup Lead gave some hope and introduced its new learning product and claimed to revolutionise the learning.

From Paper Book To Techbook
Lead Group co-founders Sumeet Mehta and Smita Deorah introduced Techbook, claimed as an intelligent book designed to transform traditional textbook-driven learning, on Tuesday.  The company said that TECHBOOK brings cutting-edge technologies and NCF aligned curriculum to address key learning challenges among school students.

Lead Group co-founder and CEO Sumeet Mehta said, "For centuries, the textbook, a primary tool of education in classrooms has remained unchanged, while AI and AR/VR have moved the world to personalised, multi-modal and gamified experiences across industries.  We have brought something from the future, for the future of our nation.  The Techbook is a revolutionary outcome of years of research in technology, pedagogy and curriculum, and will forever change how students learn. By 2028, we expect India’s top 5000 schools to upgrade to Techbook, making personalised and interactive learning the norm in classrooms across the country."

Three Dimensional Audio-Visual Learning
The Techbook with features of AI boat and Augmented reality seems to made learning a fun activity and engaging to children. As at an experience zone company portrayed how the content printed in books can be augmented on any surface having a mobile device. The software not only portrays but also verbally tells about the printed subject. This seems will make learning easy.

Currently company launched the book of science, maths and English and CEOs said that they are planning to expand further. Interestingly they categorised the functioning into three pillars, ARI, IRA, and PIE.

What Are ARI, IRA And PIE?
PIE stands for personalised interactive exercises, in which students get limitless exercises that are adaptive. While ARI stands for augmented reality instructor enables students to interact with topics in 3D whereas IRA is concerned, stands for independent reading assistant and acts as a personal tutor, reading books aloud to students, while also listening to a student’s reading and providing real-time feedback on their reading fluency and pronunciation.

Co-founder Deorah stated "By combining the tactile experience of a textbook with the power of technology and deeply researched educational content, we are ensuring that every student has access to high-quality, personalised learning that truly enhances their academic journey.  With Techbook, we are creating an environment where education is not just about memorisation, but also about exploration, creativity, and mastery."

Technology has been part of life, and Techbook is exploring that opportunity to differentiate the learning experience. It would be interesting to see the outcomes, whether students, parents, and schools adopt it and find it productive or not.
