Lenskart appointed Abhishek Gupta as its new Chief Financial Officer (CFO), succeeding Mukti Hariharan, who left the company in September to join Coca-cola. Gupta previously served as CFO at Oyo for nine years and told his transition to Lenskart via a LinkedIn post, noting he departed Oyo in March.
In his role at Lenskart, Gupta will lead long-term strategic planning and execution, with a focus on enhancing the company’s financial strategy and strengthening corporate governance.
Recently, Lenskart raised nearly USD 20 million from its co-founders—Peyush Bansal, Neha Bansal, Amit Choudhary, and Sumeet Kapahi. The company claims to operate over 2,500 stores, with approximately 2,000 located in India. India contributes nearly 60 per cent of its revenue, while the remaining income comes from international markets, including Singapore, Dubai, the US, and Southeast Asia.
For the fiscal year ending March 2023, Lenskart’s revenue from operations soared to Rs 3,788 crore, a significant increase from Rs 1,502 crore in FY22. This growth, coupled with controlled spending, enabled the company to reduce its losses by 37.3 per cent, lowering them to Rs 64 crore in FY23 from Rs 102 crore in FY22.
