Liqvid English Edge Pvt Ltd, a subsidiary of Liqvid eLearning Services, announced that it has raised Series A funding from Gray Matters Capital. Unitus Capital acted as an exclusive advisor to the transaction. This new round of financing will be used to enhance English Edge, a product created with a vision to enhance English Language Learning through innovative use of technology.
English Edge was launched by Liqvid eLearning Services, an eLearning company that delivers quality learning services, including Custom Content development, Training Design services, Technology Services, and Learning Support Services for Corporations, Academic Institutions and Government Organizations across the world. Both Liqvid eLearning and Liqvid English Edge were started by Mr Vivek Agarwal who is a serial entrepreneur, having found companies like egurucool.com in the past.
Liqvid English Edge plans to use the funds to enhance its technology offering and include personalized language learning lessons to consumers. English Edge has traditionally followed the ‘Blended Learning’ concept which is a judicious mix of instructor-led and computer-based learning, coupled with cutting-edge technology and rich multimedia.
Mr Vivek Agawal, founder and CEO of Liqvid, said “Language learning remains a huge opportunity in India and the right use of technology can help a quality service provider like Liqvid to penetrate deeper in the market.”
Mr Robert Patillo, founder of Gray Matters Capital, said “Language, especially English, still acts as a huge barrier to learning and job placement for individuals coming from the Bottom-of-the-Pyramid population across the world. Efforts by private players like Liqvid are commendable and we are happy to be associated with them.”
