BWDisrupt interacted with Vishesh Goyal, CEO, MeetCareer.com, who founded his startup in 2015. MeetCareer.com is India’s first edu-job portal established with an aim to enable high school students to manage their academic and career life cycle.
As a process, MeetCareer.com helps students to identify their gifted talent as well as their interest areas (through various online mediums as well as preliminary exams). To further assist the students, MeetCareer.com also intends to provide and facilitate free career counseling and the tutors to support the specific needs of students.
Also, through the registration of the academic institutions on its portal MeetCareer.com plans to provide the requisite information related to career to the students and would also provide financial assistance in terms of scholarships to the needy ones. On the other hand, MeetCareer.com would also engage the potential industry; placement agencies and others to provide career options to the students after the completion of their academics.

How was it started? When I was pursuing my academic career in CA, a lot of questions used to race through my mind related to my career. I would often wonder what next? At that point of time, I understood the serious need of student-focused approach in the education sector and decided to encourage and support the student community in their academic as well as career life-cycle. I felt a deep desire to make things easy for students when it comes to their career. That’s the time I decided to do something to make a difference in the lives of millions of students. And that’s how MeetCareer.com was born.

What are your Future Plans?The Company aims to be the leader, as an edu-job portal, in facilitating-
(1) The students in pursuing their higher education dreams, be it in India or in any global institution
(2) Financial assistance, counselling support, providing a platform to the qualified professionals for their career search, creating opportunities in start-up through skill set development, and also be a source to the elite academic institutions and organisations for identification/ selection of candidates.
What is your existing Monetization Model?The Company plans to adopt a self-sustaining monetization model duly supported through a volume based activity level over a period of time.
What are the Challenges you faced?India doesn’t have a consolidated territorial data base for the focused areas in which the Company plans to penetrate. The challenge at present is to, therefore, built a useful and meaningful database addressing the requirements of the activities that the company plans to introduce over a short period of time.
Furthermore, to expand the reach of the company connecting with the geographical position of the academic positions and identification and mapping of the potential employment sources is another challenge area where the information/input availability is either negligible or minimal.
What is the Market Size and Opportunities?The company is going through the brand building phase and the market size assessments are under way. Without any quantification it is assumed to be a huge opportunity open to be tapped.
