Mothers’Day2022: Mompreneurs Going Right With Their Mothers’ Advice

A friend, teacher, nagger and boss, a complete multi-tasker, mothers have the capacity to be everywhere at once. For these founders, their mothers have been a powerhouse of motivation and support through all the ups and downs.

Ghazal Alagh, Co-founder and Chief Innovation Officer, Honasa Consumer shares, “Mamaearth was created from our personal experience and inputs from hundreds of parents. While we were building the brand, we created a community of moms to understand their needs and help us create products that were relevant for millennial moms. They have been an integral part of our journey and we are grateful to every mom who has helped us through every step of this journey.”

“I strongly believe mothers are the best managers,” Alagh asserts.

Vineeta Singh, Co-founder and CEO, SUGAR Cosmetics says, “Motherhood has taught me to be patient and understanding like never before. Being a mother has helped me to openly seek help when required and prioritize quality time."

"I have learned to focus on what is in front of me and be completely dedicated to it. Over a period of time, this has helped me devote quality time to both, family and work," SUGAR's Singh further mentions.

Motherhood At The Core Of Business

There is a common saying that God cannot be everywhere and therefore he created mothers. A lot of discussion about work-life balance but no limited working hours for entrepreneurs.  Most interestingly, these are the founders who are not only business drivers but also full-time mothers.

Neha Indoria, Co-founder at Boingg which is a D2C furniture company. Boingg! is an exclusively crafted furniture range prepared exclusively for kids which is quirky, customised and safe.

“Motherhood forms the very core of our business because we are all about creating happy spaces for kids that provide form and function to the parents and help them contain, organise and customise their kid’s room to their unique preferences,” Neha Indoria explains how motherhood is the push to herself to become an entrepreneur.

Pallavi Utagi, Co-founder at SuperBottoms which is a D2C player in the baby care segment and focused on sustainable and zero-waste living.

Speaking about her venture and said that what’s true for the entire world, is true for us too. SuperBottoms literally exists because of the Moms who run it. Started by a Mom who hired more Moms! From inception to design, from sales to customer service – everything is managed by Moms.

Who does not rely on 'mom’s advice' in life?
Let’s have a look at their Mothers’ advice that made these women become exemplary leaders today.

Lesson From Pallavi’s Mom

My Aai, at the age of 38 odd years as a mother of 3 kids quit her nice, respectful, stable job as a Teacher. And started her own business in the field of Computer Education. It was not advice, it was her teaching by example.

Lesson From Vineeta’s Mom

One learning I’ve truly imbibed from her is going through failures and success – all with humility. Learning from the best, I try to instil her teachings in everything I do and not just limit it to my professional life.

Lesson From Ghazal’s Mom

My mother is a phenomenal planner and that is a life skill I wish everyone learns early on in life. My mother has been my inspiration and she continues to inspire me every day.

Lesson From Neha’s Mom

My parents always told me, that nothing succeeds more than success. And that had been the biggest motivator for me in my journey as an entrepreneur.
