Swiggy, India’s on-demand convenience platform listed on the National Stock Exchange (NSE) and Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) on 13 November. To mark this moment, two of Swiggy’s delivery partners, Jigar Khan and Namrata, joined Swiggy’s leadership team - Sriharsha Majety, Nandan Reddy, Rohit Kapoor, and others- on stage to ring the ceremonial bell.
The company said that Jigar, a Bengaluru native, joined Swiggy seven years ago, fresh out of college and facing a difficult personal journey. After losing his father and shouldering family responsibilities, he found his path with Swiggy in Bengaluru. Today, Jigar has paid off family debts and achieved his dream of owning a home. "It's humbling to be here, celebrating Swiggy's journey to becoming a publicly listed company," Jigar said, reflecting on his journey on the occasion.
Namrata's story is equally inspiring, told the company. When the pandemic forced her food stall to close, she turned to Swiggy at her husband's encouragement. Two years later, she’s not just supporting her daughters’ education but also helping them chase their own dreams of becoming a fashion designer and a makeup artist. "Swiggy stood by me during tough times. Being here today, on this stage, feels like a unique joy," Namrata shared at the listing.
Swiggy said that today’s listing celebrates the commitment and achievements of Swiggy’s delivery partners like Jigar and Namrata, whose stories inspire Swiggy’s journey forward.
To mark the listing, Swiggy also released a fun video correlating the bell ringing ceremony to the significance of ringing different types of bells in Swiggy’s delivery journey.
