According to media reports, Titan Capital Winners Fund, a SEBI-registered Category-II Alternative Investment Fund (AIF), has officially closed its fund at Rs 333 crore. Initially launched with a target of Rs 200 crore in August 2024, the fund saw heightened interest from investors, prompting the firm to utilise its greenshoe option for additional commitments.
As per media reports, the fund is led by prominent figures Kunal Bahl and Rohit Bansal, who are well-known for their influential roles in India’s startup ecosystem. With a history of investing in over 280 companies since 2011, they are the largest investors in the fund, aiming to further support founders and reinforce their position in the startup landscape.
The management team behind the fund includes seasoned professionals, such as Chetan Rana, the CFO, who brings extensive experience from WestBridge Capital and other major financial firms. Shiv Kapoor, Vice President, contributes over a decade of experience from his tenure at Dropbox in the US and Urban Company in India.
As reported by media outlets, Bahl and Bansal expressed gratitude for the significant investor interest in the Titan Capital Winners Fund. They noted that the fund aims to back approximately 20 tech-enabled businesses with an average investment size of Rs 15 crore, which will further strengthen their partnership with founders and send a positive signal to potential new investors.
The fund is set to focus on follow-on investments in breakout companies from its seed portfolio, leveraging high-signal data for strategic and informed decision-making.
Titan Capital has already made its first three investments. These include Convin, an AI co-pilot for customer-facing teams based in Bengaluru; Beco, a Mumbai-based company producing eco-friendly homecare products; and Simplismart, a platform enhancing the efficiency of machine learning model implementation for various organizations. Several additional investment opportunities are currently being evaluated.
According to media reports, Titan Capital’s seed portfolio boasts successful companies like Urban Company, Mamaearth, Ola Cabs, Razorpay, Credgenics, and OfBusiness. The Limited Partners (LPs) of the Winners Fund include a diverse mix of family offices, CEOs, founders, and prominent figures from the venture capital industry.
