Aakrit Vaish is Co-Founder & CEO of Haptik, Indian personal assistant mobile app, powered by a combination of artificial intelligence and human assistance. Aakrit started the company from his house in 2013, and as of April 2017, employs close to 500 people and is the highest rated mobile app in India on Google Play. Aakrit has been responsible for pioneering the concept of chat bots way before companies like Facebook and Google launched assistants, and has been successful in raising capital from marquee investors such as Times Internet and Kalaari Capital. Prior to Haptik, Aakrit was an early member of the team at Flurry, one of the world's largest mobile analytics and advertising platforms, acquired by Yahoo in 2014. He was also the Co-Founder and lead investor in Flat.to, an online real estate platform acquired by Commonfloor in 2014. Aakrit was named as a contender to the BW Disrupt 40 Under 40 list in 2017.

That's a good question. A chatbot is actually an interface that does a better job of doing certain types of things than websites and apps. The underlying technology to build a chatbot is natural language processing, which is a sub-domain of AI.

The bet is that they will become as widely used as mobile apps and websites. If that happens, conversational bots are going to be everywhere. Text, voice, using hardware & web interfaces.
