Mayank Kumar, Co-founder and MD of upGrad, has introduced his latest venture, BorderPlus, co-founded with Ayush Mathur. BorderPlus aims to connect blue-collar workers to global opportunities, starting with the healthcare sector, addressing critical workforce challenges worldwide.
Kumar expressed his vision, stating, “India’s youth represent a powerful demographic dividend, yet significant barriers limit their access to global opportunities. BorderPlus is here to change that.”
Ayush Mathur elaborated on the platform’s purpose, saying, “The idea behind BorderPlus stems from a shared vision: to simplify cross-border recruitment and address workforce gaps globally, starting with the healthcare sector. As someone who has witnessed the challenges of finding skilled talent during my time at Oyo, I’m excited about creating transparent and efficient pathways for talent migration.”
The platform is supported by a robust founding team, including Kevin Shah handling demand, Praniti Sinha Lal and Radnyee Naik focusing on language expertise, and Subhendu Chandra managing supply. With a proprietary tech stack, BorderPlus seeks to streamline international recruitment and create a lasting impact.
“For me, this venture is deeply personal and purpose-driven,” Kumar added. “As I’ve learned through my journey at upGrad, opportunities multiply when access meets the right ecosystem. BorderPlus represents the next step in unlocking such opportunities.”
The initiative underscores Kumar’s commitment to building pathways for a more connected and equitable global workforce where opportunities transcend borders.
