Meragi, India’s largest wedding services startup, has successfully raised USD 9.1 million in its Series A funding round led by Accel, with participation from existing investors Peak XV Partners (formerly Sequoia Capital India & SEA), Venture Highway and Angel Investor Anupam Mittal.

The capital infusion will enable Meragi to expand into additional cities, launch partner venues and experience centers, and offer delightful tech products to its customers. This follows the startup’s previous successful fundraise of $4.4 million in 2023.

Meragi was founded with a vision to revolutionise the fragmented wedding services industry. Abhinav Chandran, Co-founder and CEO, Meragi said, “At Meragi, we are modernizing the wedding industry so that couples can celebrate one of the most important moments of their lives without the hassles traditionally associated with planning a wedding. Having successfully delivered over 3000 events in just 2 years—an unprecedented scale in this industry—we’re eager to grow Meragi into a household name. Alongside our previous investors, Peak XV Partners and Venture Highway, we are thrilled to welcome Accel to our journey. With their expertise and support, we are confident in bringing the Meragi experience to thousands of more couples and families in India.”

Mukund Mohan Raj, Co-founder and COO, Meragi said, “We offer a range of world-class wedding services, where our experts utilise a suite of digital products to underwrite the entire experience from start to finish. For our decoration category, we’ve built the most advanced system globally—the entire supply chain is modularised and digitised, enabling us to reliably deliver hundreds of events a month. The fresh funds will be used to develop similar cutting-edge systems across all services.”

Pratik Agarwal, Principal at Accel, said, "Weddings in India are celebrated with deep cultural significance. With rising aspirations, couples today are seeking memorable experiences but within their budgets. At Accel, we are excited to support Meragi in their mission to make dream weddings accessible to all Indian couples. Abhinav, Mukund and Lakshminarayan have been incredibly thoughtful in their approach, meticulously launching category by category, prioritizing customer experience over rapid scale, and building with solid economic fundamentals. Meragi's innovative, full-stack, all-in-one customer experience is transforming the wedding industry, and we are confident their vision will resonate nationwide, creating lasting memories for families.”

Meragi operates in key Indian markets including Bangalore, Hyderabad, and NCR, and offers destination weddings in Goa and Jaipur. In the last financial year, the company generated INR 48 Cr in gross merchandise value (GMV) and aims to double this in the current financial year, targeting Rs 100 crore.
