After a food delivery rider tested positive for COVID-19 a few days back, the Telangana Government has currently barred the food delivery services in the state till any further notice.
The Chief Minister K. Chandrashekhar Rao has announced the extension of their statewide lockdown further to May 7, after the total tally of positive cases in the state has reached at 858.
The CM has categorically said that the companies delivering groceries such as BigBasket and Grofers will be allowed to deliver in the state. However, no one will be allowed to order cooked meals from apps like Swiggy and Zomato starting from April 20 onwards.
Recently, 72 families in South Delhi were placed under quarantine after a food delivery executive had tested positive, after which the contact tracing was done. As a new development the central government had reverted back on its earlier order to open up the regular e-commerce activity.
