Adani Group Eyes Major Expansion Into Ecommerce And Payments Sector

Adani Group is considering providing online shopping services through the Open Network for Digital Commerce (ONDC), as per media reports

Adani Group is reportedly planning entry into India’s ecommerce and payments sector, aiming to compete with giants like Google and Mukesh Ambani’s Reliance Industries.

According to media reports, the Gautam Adani-led conglomerate is exploring the application for a Unified Payments Interface (UPI) license, a crucial component of India's digital payments infrastructure. The group is also in discussions with banks to finalize a co-branded Adani credit card.

Additionally, Adani Group is considering providing online shopping services through the Open Network for Digital Commerce (ONDC), India’s rapidly growing ecommerce platform, according to media reports. Both UPI and ONDC attract millions of users monthly and are central to India's digital public infrastructure.
