BharatPe, a fintech company in India, makes a strategic partnership with Invest India to enhance digital financial inclusion and literacy among One District One Product (ODOP) producers and sellers across the country.
This initiative aims to promote digital payment mediums in tier III and IV cities and rural areas, supporting BharatPe’s mission of empowering merchants with secure financial products
ODOP aims to transform districts into manufacturing and export hubs by identifying products with export potential. The partnership between BharatPe and Invest India will deliver a customized Information, Education, and Communication (IEC) program.
This program will educate ODOP stakeholders about digital payments, cyber fraud prevention, and data protection. Additionally, BharatPe will provide QR and PoS devices to facilitate digital transactions and offer small-ticket loans to support business growth.
Nalin Negi, CEO of BharatPe, stated, "At BharatPe, we stay firm in our commitment to empowering millions of offline businesses through various government partnerships with the objective of driving financial inclusion across the country, and empowering entrepreneurs with businesses in various categories located across the length and breadth of Bharat, including women entrepreneurs. This partnership with Invest India adds a new dimension to our commitment to driving financial inclusion and digital financial literacy to offline merchants. In our current engagement, we hope to make a positive impact on the lives of 2000+ ODOP producers and sellers across Bharat. I would like to thank Invest India for this partnership and the opportunity to contribute towards India’s cashless economy goals and Viksit Bharat 2047.”
Nivruti Rai, MD and CEO of Invest India, added, "The collaboration between the One District One Product (ODOP) Initiative and BharatPe is a significant step towards promoting financial inclusion and economic empowerment. BharatPe's expertise in digital payments and financial services complements the ODOP's focus on Economic development, Empowering Stakeholders, Preserving art and Experience enhancement. Through the financial inclusion sessions, ODOP stakeholders, including artisans, small business owners, and local entrepreneurs, will gain access to essential financial tools and knowledge, fostering a supportive ecosystem for local businesses. This empowerment allows them to expand their operations, innovate, and improve their livelihoods.”
The initiative will target ODOP stakeholders in key districts across Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, and Delhi NCR, among others, covering industries like shawls, embroidery, carpets, silk, gems, jewelry, handicrafts, jute, and leather products.
