Business World Disrupt and iOTA organized an event called INTERNALAYA sponsored by Career Launcher and Coder’s Trust held at FLYP@MTV which was about interns trying their luck with various startups in order to get internship. It was an internship fair where a large number of startups came to employ a number of interns.
The students were suppose to register and go up to various companies which were given a desk each and give their interviews. The students did not have any restrictions on the number of companies they wanted to try for. It was a successful event as companies from almost every field came be it a Law firm or an It company or a software company , etc. It was also a great thing for student who were there because each of these organization were willing to offer good stipend to all the students who wanted to do internship with them. Internalaya is said to be the biggest internship fair as it is not only restricted to Delhi but also took place in Gurugram and Noida on different dates.
It was called as the biggest Internship fair because it was able to gather 70 startups and 10 brands who were eager to hire interns on that particular day. It even had 100 eager students who were willing to get an opportunity to be a part of those organizations as interns which led to a combined total of about 200 people in all at an internship event making it a huge success.
Organizations like Youwecan, Weddingplz, Mindler, Sociabaaz,etc. were a part of the event. The companies conducted speed interviews and aimed at providing candidates with real world experience and work through the medium of internship. It was a win-win situation for both companies and students as companies were getting interns and students were getting internships which they came looking for.
The day followed “Show me what you’ve got” approach to hire, by allowing the students to showcase and exhibit their passion and talent in terms of their likeliness and not on the grounds of percentile and college score. It was an open platform which provided every individual equal opportunity to showcase what they have got and get placed according to their skills and desires. INTERNALAYA was a major success and such fairs should keep happening as they provide great opportunity to new budding talent to prosper and showcase their skills which is a great help for the startups as they keep searching for such useful talent.
