EDUGILD Launches Second Edition of EdTech Startup Accelerator Program

EDUGILD, India’s first edtech startup accelerator, announces the launch of its second batch of the accelerator program with seven EdTech startups from India and overseas (USA & Russia). The boot camp for these startups commences on 2nd September in Pune. The selected startups are from diverse education technology spaces and locations:

4. EKIN Technologies- Preetham Shetty and Seran Devaraj (Founders) Bangalore, India
5. Proctor EDU- Ade Adebayo and Kozin Artem (Founders) Moscow, Russia
6. Read Rush- Mizanullah Mizan and Upendra Sachan (Founders)New Delhi, India
7.Tiny Taps- Altaf Rehmani, Varsha, Sunil Patil (Founders and Core Team) Pune, India

These companies will be a part of an intensive training program designed for education technology startups and will gain access to co-working space, product life cycle management support, organization development inputs, business landscape, investor relations, UI/UX maturity, public relations and global scale-up opportunities. With EDUGILD’s extensive ecosystem of corporate, universities and edtech organizations, the startups have been specifically curated to work with them through this platform. To name a few, EDUGILD’s partners include CISCO, Cambridge University Press, Tata Class Edge, CodersTrust, Upgrad, Aptech, VIT Vellore, Indira Group of Institutes, MIT Institute of Design.

The Indian EdTech market is expected to reach up to $70 billion by 2020, from the present $20 billion. The mix of startups in this new batch is testimony to the belief that the Indian EdTech space is evolving and all geo borders have been crossed in terms of solutions development and proliferation.

Speaking on the launch of EDUGILD’s second batch, Mr. Rishi Kapal, CEO - EDUGILD said, "The EDUGILD program is meant to enhance as many opportunities for our startups to engage with key game changers and decision makers within the knowledge management industry."

“After the successful completion of the first batch where a few of them have received funding from external sources as well as generating inbound interest as anticipated, EDUGILD looks forward to create an enhanced ecosystem that will further help and build a stronger base for the second batch.” Mr. Kapal added.

EDUGILD’s strength lies in being a part of MIT Group of Institutes, with VIT Vellore and Indira Group of Institutions (Pune), being institutional partners. This gives the startups an ecosystem access to 120K institutes and 150K students in various disciplines.

Commenting on the boot camp, Mr. Manish Upadhyay, Strategic partner to EDUGILD and founder of LIQVID (EnglishEdge) said, “EDK (EDUGILD Diagnostic Kit) that has been created as a strong two days program will lay the blueprint for a specific action plan for each of the EdTech startup. They will also have a symbiotic relationship with one another and also the earlier cohort.”
