Athletto, a Bangalore based sports tech startup, founded by IIM-A graduates has been selected by Facebook for its FbStart program to help mobile startups succeed. Facebook team choose Athletto because of its impressive development in the past 1 year and its potential for high growth in future.
Founded in 2015 by Ujwal Sutaria(IIM-A alumni), Praveen Gadpayle ( NITIE alumni) and Narayana Vyas(IIM-A Alumni), Athletto is a sports and fitness platform to help people Discover & Book Sports and Fitness facilities, coaching services, players and tournament information around them.
On the consumer end, Athletto provides us with detailed information about each facility which includes real photographs, coach information, prices, timings, contact details, map, ratings and reviews. On the facility owner end, Athletto provides a business app and dashboard to help them manage the facility listing, facility booking, membership, coaching services and complete analytics solutions. They also create online presence of each and every facility on their website and help them with marketing. The team is focussed on aggregating listings on their platform and trying to organize this completely unorganized sports sector, which is estimated at more than USD $50 billion in Asia.
Having raised its angel round from Mr. Atul Ingle in 2016, Athletto, in the past 1 year, has facilitated transactions worth more than $1 million and helped more than 50,000 people get back to playing. A cumulative of 1,50,000+ hours in playgrounds had been recorded.
Athletto is proud to be a part of Make in India product and is also in line with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of making India a digital and cashless nation with the help of technology. With its proprietary technology Athletto is helping 500+ of sports and fitness infrastructure owners go online and manage their facilities remotely from any part of the world. They also helped them smoothly beat the woes of demonetization by helping them collect cash online.
Athletto also won an award at the India Sports Award organised by FICCI in Feb 2016 for their outstanding effort to promote sports among the masses through their technological solution.
