LEH LEH Sports, an exciting venture created to provide easy access to sports, today announced that Anglian Omega Network has invested in the venture for a minority stake in the company. The investment has been made by Sunny Narang – Chairman of the Anglian Omega Network in a personal capacity.
Created five years ago with a vision to build a sporty-er planet, LEH LEH Sports today has become immensely popular with its attempt to take the ‘pay and play’ concept to the next level and has conducted more than 10000 matches in multiple sports with 25000 plus players who are actively engaged in its community. LEH LEH Sports creates easy access to sports and addresses the problems usually faced by people who want to play – finding spaces, partners, teams to play with and takes away the organisational hassles. The company started off with adult recreational football, but has since grown to multiple sports at a multi-city level along with a lot of youth sports. LEH LEH Sports has a thriving corporate business as well, wherein corporates participate to promote fun at work, employee engagement and team building among its employees.
The investment from Anglian Omega Network will help LEH LEH Sports to scale up the venues strategy for the company. LEH LEH Sports’s latest push is into managing sports assets through its venue collaborations, in line with the company’s vision to make sports accessible for everyone through various programs at these facilities.
Says Siddharth Pandey, Founder, LEH LEH Sports, “We are delighted to work with Anglian Omega Group, who have a proven track record in helping sports businesses grow. This is a strategic investment for us, especially at a time when we are trying to grow our venue collaborations model. In this model, there is a gestation period for getting a venue fully up to speed and the funding will help us finance cash flows in that period.”
The Anglian Omega Network has investments in multiple sports related entities, with a singular vision of building a global platform for sports. The Group is trying to build an ecology around sports with its various endeavours – Shillong Lajong FC, a premier football club of India where Anglian Omega Network has significant stake; Anglian Medal Hunt Company, whose objective is to identify and nurture Olympic talent and to help create iconic sportsmen for the future; Anglian Management Group, which is the sports advisory branch with 360-degree services; FOLOFO, short for "FOr the LOve of FOotball", is financial investment arm to fund football infrastructure; Awadh Mutineers, a grassroots sports initiative and football club based in Akbarpur, eastern Uttar Pradesh that selects children from underprivileged communities in the area and trains them in football with free education, stationery; among others.
Speaking on the investment, Sunny Narang, Chairman, Anglian Omega Network said, “At Anglian, we are trying to build a 360-degree platform to create a professional sports ecology. LEH LEH Sports is trying to address a definite problem that people face when it comes to playing their sport of choice and today it has become the premier recreational sports company in India. We saw great energy and passion in the LEH LEH Sports team, and found the perfect synergy with it to expand our sports portfolio.”
The latest investment in LEH LEH Sports is in line with Anglian Omega’s vision of seeking to identify, mentor and support innovative entrepreneurs and growth companies in India in the business of sports.
