During the Reliance Industries Limited 45th annual general meeting, Isha Ambani, Director, Reliance Retail Ventures Ltd, said that this year, Reliance Industries will launch its fast-moving consumer goods business.
Reliance is all set to launch its FMCG business, with the sole aim to develop and deliver high-quality, affordable products. These products would be able to solve every Indian's daily needs, elaborated Isha.
“We will soon start marketing quality goods produced by tribals and other marginalised communities across India," she said.
Presently, Hindustan Unilever, Nestle India, ITC, Britannia Industries, and Dabur India, are some of the top FMCG players in India, among others.
Additionally, Reliance Retail Ventures Limited (RRVL), a subsidiary of Reliance Industries Ltd and the holding company of all the retail companies under the RIL group recorded a consolidated turnover of ₹ 199,704 crore ($ 26.3 billion) and net profit of ₹ 7,055 crore ($931 million) for the year ended March 31, 2022.
Presently, RRVL is the largest and the most profitable retailer in India. It has also been listed among the fastest growing retailers in the world in Deloitte's Global Powers of Retailing 2022 index. Ranked as 56th in the list of Top Global Retailers, it is the only Indian Retailer to be featured in the Top 100.
