Uber announced a partnership with government-backed Open Network for Digital Commerce (ONDC), solidifying the deal with a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed at an event attended by Uber CEO Dara Khosrowshahi and Infosys Chairman Nandan Nilekani, as per media reports.
Khosrowshahi highlighted Uber's commitment to serving the mobility needs of all Indians, aligning with ONDC's aim to democratise digital commerce. Prabhjeet Singh, President of Uber India and South Asia, expressed enthusiasm for the partnership, stating their goal to make Uber a platform for every Indian's daily mobility needs.
Khosrowshahi praised India's Digital Public Infrastructure, noting its scale and ambition, and emphasised Uber's interest in open-source technology stacks and the opportunities they present.
ONDC's Managing Director and CEO, T Koshy, welcomed the collaboration, emphasising the importance of the Mobility, Transport, and Travel sector within the evolving Open Network, which he believes will drive innovation and diverse mobility solutions for all Indians.
